Another day - another problem with this #### truck.
2016 Cascadia. Opened the hood and can't close it back. Descovered one of the front brackets that hold the hood to the frame completely broke off from the hood.
Is this even fixable or I need to look for a new hood?![]()

Warranty?
-
I have NTP extended warranty. I'm sure they will not cover something like that. They didn't even cover a radiator when it develop a leak.

Park on the end and have the first mega buy you a new hood.
AModelCat, Chuck Humbuckers and bzinger Thank this. -
Well it appears it was epoxied on so if that’s the case ya just need more epoxy. Or a better built truck but that’s gonna cost a lot more.
bzinger Thanks this. -

yes it can be fixed. thats how they repair those hoods. everything is pieces
-
Had that happen on my 2013 cascadia a couple years ago .
Those brackets are epoxied to the front of the hood and they corrode between the hood and bracket.
I had both sides done along with new struts and new brackets ...new brackets are now bolted and epoxied to the hood .
It wasn't cheap . -
Been there. Those brackets are fragile and they do break. The glue that holds the bracket to the hood releases with heat so you have to torch it off.
Change the hood straps while you're at it. They can stretch out and allow too much force on the bracket.Last edited: Aug 15, 2021
