At the Utah/Nevada state line on I-80 lies the metropolis of West Wendover. If you haven't been trucking any length of time, or if you've never stopped in West Wendover, I encourage you to stop and spend some time there.
There are three casino's in West Wendover - Rainbow, Peppermill, and Montego Bay - that provide services specifically for the truck driver.
There is a huge asphalt parking lot - HUGE, as in about the size of three football fields! There is easily parking for 300-400 trucks in marked spaces, as well as oversize vehicles around the perimeter.
A driver's lounge has a small C-store (mainly newspapers and sodas), a laundry area ($1.00 to wash, .75 for 90 minutes to dry), and about a dozen nice, CLEAN showers! And... the showers are free! All you have to do is show your CDL so they know you're a driver, and they'll be more than happy to give you a shower.
Then, after you're nice and clean... you show them your CDL, and you can get a choice of coupons good for the AYCE buffet at any of the three casinos! You can get a "Two for the price of One" coupon, or, you can get a "50% off" coupon.
The Rainbow has the Rainforest Buffet - which seems to be a mix of a little bit of all cusines -- Italian, Chinese, Mexican, American.
The Peppermill has the Texas BBQ buffet - which is exactly what the name implies -- AYCE Texas-style BBQ!
Montego Bay has the Oceano buffet - which serves American-style food, with an emphasis on seafood. Their Friday night seafood buffet is absolutely fantastic!
There are 3-6 shuttle vans that will take you between the driver's lounge and the casino's (Rainbow and Peppermill are only a block away, Montego Bay is about a mile away). The shuttle is free, however you should leave a small tip for the driver.
If you haven't been to West Wendover, I strongly encourage you to stop in and enjoy what they've put together for the truck drivers! It's nice to know that someone cares enough about us to want to do something like this for us all!

You forgot the little known "Best Mexican Food I have Ever Eaten" restaurant in Wendover, UT. The Salt Flats Cafe at Exit 1 in Wendover, Utah (the Bonneville Speedway exit) is the best mexican food I have ever eaten. It is fantastic and inexpensive. Order the all beef Pancho Special and you will be in heaven!!! Several movies are filmed in this area including ConAir, Smoking Aces and The Worlds Fastest Indian. The restaurant scene was actually filmed in the Salt Flats Cafe. There is plenty of truck parking as the stop sells diesel. Give it a try, I guarantee you will love this homemade mexican food restaurant. The owners are from mexico and awesome people.

My extended family runs cars at Bonneville, and we always eat breakfast there during Speedweek. EDIT: The taste is subjective, of course. I have had better Mexican food at other places. But it is still pretty good, especially considering the 1980's pricing.
For spaghetti & meat sauce lovers, I recommend trying it at Peppermill (restaurant on west side, not buffet). One of the best I have ever had, and it's all you can eat too for $9.
Rainbow's buffet is good. Montego bay's restaurant sucks.Last edited: Dec 29, 2009

Just make sure you take one hell of an appetite if you order the Seafood Scampi!!cpassey Thanks this.

It is the first exit in Nv, if you are West bound, and of course the last exit in Nv (mp 401) if you are East bound...kinda hard to miss, bright lights, casinos, and the little sign that shows Pilot sign on the off ramp.
Besides Wendover only has 3 exits, if you combine the two in NV and the one in UT. Just get off when you see the buildings, then go towards the buildings...hard to miss, and cold, very cold at night this time of year! -
The last exit in Nevada is MP 410...I'm just sayin'. -
Hey I got the digits right...just the wrong order...age is a wonderful thing!

Any of the exits to wendover will get you to the parking lot/ casinos.
