Trying to get a handle on how to plan my next big project on my truck
Ignoring looks for functionality, ill be using rhe kw j hangers. Whats the weight rating on these each? Seen 2 for a 120 gallon tank, but is it enough for a 150? Usually see 3 on those.
Presumably 3 on a 120 would be fine but overkill?
Whats most of yalls prefered mileage range? Ive been doing it 2 years om about a 600 mile between fillups, but thats a little short sometimes.

I would go with the 2 set up and the wide bands if exposed tanks. If behind skirts go with the 3. I run 150’s on all 3 of my star cars
-
Our 14 w9 has 150with 3 bands on one side and 110 with 2 on the other. Skirts on both side. I need to put a 150 on in place of the 110. 30 gal difference doesn't sound like much but to me it is. Our 93 has 2 150s with bottom draw and 1 inch standpipe so it has usable about 280gal. The 14 is top draw and quits picking up fuel about 4 inches from the bottom leaving usable volume of about 200gal.

Ill be dropping the skirts soonish, at most twin 120s at 24.5 dia would put me 4 inches behind the tail of my skirts.
When you say wide band, you mean wider than the 2 inch standard one that everywhere seems to think 150$ each is a good price on?
At that price i will certainly be making my own straps, what is the relative benefit beyond looks for a wider strap? As i understand it, it is primarily to hold DOWN the tank not up, and the ends still seem to be 2 inch and then the single t bolt so im not quite sure why i would go wide band. -
I was just on VanderHag's site this morning looking for a set of tanks & brackets.. I about peed myself when I saw what they wanted for beat up used brackets & straps
-
I did the same, pretty sure 75$ for a single grimy beat up strap buys a LOT of duct tape and baling wire
-
They wanted 250.00 for the bracket and strap for a 379... like you said the strap looked well used .. they wanted 250.00 for a beat up used 48" deck plate with 2 holes in it .. they weren't gonna charge any extra for the rust I can buy a brand new 1 for that price
-
6 of each and 6 more of the lh strap anchor....
2924.16$ before i even look at tanks... wtf?
VERSUS
2 of these kits
Plus 200$ shipping
Taxes putting it near 1200$
Can anyone convince me of the wisdom of buying either oem replica or aftermarket instead of just having my dads shop plasma cut the parts and weld assemblies for a custom setup?Last Call Thanks this. -
