Rather than spending big coin on the latest n greatest,see if some of the different shops have left over from previous yrs..
I went to a local cell dealer a few yrs back and bought a cpl left overs for dirt cheap..Not gonna be as perky as the latest version but it will still get the net,text,vid chat,phone....

 

To Moose1058. Have you considered an external auxiliary battery for the phone? I bought one that was slightly larger than a zippo lighter for less than $10. Purchased at a store that sells refurbished stuff cheap.
