Has anyone come up with a solution or temp fix to get our trucks running with a bad QLS sensor?
(17 lonestar isx15)
Im being told that these sensor are on nationwide backorder anywhere from 2 weeks to 6 months.
I cant be down that long. I have a family to feed as Im sure others do as well.
Whats the fix here?
Whats the solution for the dreaded QLS sensor defect?

Just to clarify, this is not just an International, every manufacture is having issues right now. Word is they are working on an emergency Calibration that will use a “virtual” QLS sensor and use your Nox inlet and outlet sensors to determine quality. Not sure of a timeline but at this point you’d think it’d be soon

And just to add, heard a rumour guys are having some luck putting the sensors in a bucket with ice and water for about 20 min. and then reinstalling. Who knows how long it lasts for though.

I mean can the sensor be cleaned or what? I was reading up somewhere that it has to do with the silicone chip inside basically getting to hot from the coolant lines and causing the chip to fail.

Mine went out a couple months ago. Truck sat for two weeks before our dealer could find one, and he made it sound like he had to pull a lot of strings to get it. I believe I may have gotten one of the last ones in the country lol.

Try dealer again. Mine ordered from DC (Illinois) and had it next day.

Just buy a pair of vise grips and pinch off the coolant hoses to the tank if your QLS still has a pulse.
avgdzlmekanic, Flint1 and QUALITYTRUCK Thank this. -
We have been getting pretty high temps here the past week. About 100*. The code started popping when I let the truck idle for about 2 hours.
I have a new one on order from the local dealer. But said it would be 2 weeks to a few months.
