I haven't ever skipped one, but I have to admit to pulling into one at the base of Grapevine one time.... In the BUICK!(That was embarassing!)

I-40 westbound coming into NM. Backup about a mile on the shoulder.
No way in hell was I sitting out there waiting to get hit by some one that "didn't see" me.
If I were to get hit in a situation like that you can bet I'll be owning me a chicken house. -
I saw a funny one that was on the other side of the coin.
Several years ago I got stopped in MI for supposed over height. After driving thru multiple 13'6'' states with no issues I'm not buying these MI chicken house claims.
Two guys working the desk. They weren't first class pricks, but neither were they very nice to me. Before I left their boss came in and heres where it gets interesting. Its a female with a bigger set than what they've got. The two of them instantly become two little butt kissers and yes men.
She berated them for not keeping the trash picked up and the trash cans empty. In their defense the trash cans only a little trash in the bottom of them. I didn't see the point to her tirade.
As I walked back out to the truck the one that had been the biggest prick to me had his head stuck in a trash can picking out the trash with his butt waving in the air. It struck me as really funny that these two ####### were real "manly" men to an innocent truck driver, but when their female boss showed up we found out just exactly how neutered they were.

The scale on 26 in NC coming off of 40 is bad about the scale master backing trucks up on the highway. Several years ago they got a driver killed there. Seems like it was one of the mega carriers. I don't know what ever came of it, but they are anal about turning the open switch off.

I have never ran a coop!

Whats this accidentally phrase you mention?
I-35 Ames, IA!!! He chased me down & we had a little discussion. I left with no ticket.
I-10 on the LA/TX state line.... They have weigh in motion... But for some reason I always got the "truck must exit" sign. I just started blowing it... Never got caught either.
I've blown Manchester, TN... Knoxville, TN... Elizabethtown, KY... Hope, AR... only when they are backed out onto the highway & I see a risk of an accident... Tennessee it is legal to blow them if they are backed up on the ramp, not sure about KY. -
Id like to see you blow the one northa macon
-
I blow it & a lot of scales all the time! But I now have prepass, & it is very rare that I get a red light.
-
Lots of em. If they are backed up close to the road I keep going. I am not stopping on the road for anybody. Had some real morons in front of me going into TN on I-65 couple weeks ago about caused a BIG pile up for stopping on the #### interstate, not the shoulder, the right lane of traffic!
I've never been chased or bothered for going by one that the ramp was full in any state. We've had prepass for a long time usually get the green light and now we have Norpass. I rarely have to go in one at all now maybe once or twice a month now.

Got DOT'ed again yesterday. Running on 10 eastbound around Beaumont. Black and white comes off the shoulder after me. Flicks on the lights and I hit the hazards. Drop speed to double nickel, continue for a while to the next get off ramp. I shut the truck down and roll down the windows. Smokey comes to the passenger window, looks in the truck wants to see my logbook, fire estinguisher, DOT card, BOL,
I turn on all the lights, and wipers, toot the horn, he looks at the brakes and whatnot and has me walk back to his SUV. He invites me in and starts running my info. He then thanks me for signalling, slowing and pulling off the bigroad the way I did. I explain to him that I get DOTed all the time (if you pull permitted loads or hazmat, you expect it). He hands me my papers and wishes me a good day.
Am I being harrassed by the DOT? No, its part of my job. They do their job, I do mine.bullhaulerswife and Working Class Patriot Thank this.
