Present day access leaves a lot to be desired. Down home, we just drove south on US45 (good pavement) to the "Woodpile". Whacked a left down to the cinderblock building; yelled in the quantity and brand, completed curb service and followed the circle drive back to the hard road. Fellow or fellows accompanying would have begun extraction and serving the driver. Simplicity itself.

 

Same kind we have always had... A few. But they have reproduced faster than typical.
So goes the law of diminishing returns.
