Hurricane Relief work? Who's getting ready to help?

I'm to new to know where to look

 

AT&T NDR in Atlanta, ive done it once.
But we built there trailers theres 200 of them in a BIG warehouse.
Heres a Colt one of many all shapes and sizes.

 

Bennett in GA. used to haul the gen. and brokered out the rest of loads, that they used to power up all the cell towers after big ones hit I had tanker on my cdl so they would put a big 30ft tank on ft. of trailer and then put the small gen. on the back, the one that hit east coast I sat for 2 weeks up where there was no power so I needed fuel and drove up a two lane into next state where I found a small fuel stop with power and a thrift store on hill behind it with truck parking and bought a box full of movies to watch for the rest of week and a lot of used tools, the service area would get a tanker load of gas an people were lined up down I-95 waiting on gas with gas cans in trunk to fill up and the load of gas might last 1 and 1/2 hours and price of gas and fuel was hi, they gave me the order to bring it back after 13 days of getting paid to sit and wait, the gen. they were putting at cell towers were getting hauled out of them at night and I watched state cops pulling over every p/u truck pulling one ck. them and the guys said it was a time killer when they were getting paid for every one they got working, and the crooks were cutting the wires with bolt cutters and making a lot more work to get one working again?

 

I just bought a truck in Lake Charles 2 weeks ago. It’s still sitting there. I hope he pulls it into the garage so if anything devastating happens his insurance will cover it

 

I got on for hurricane Katrina. The agent just posted the loads on the load board. The hard part was getting the phone call to the agent. Because every Landstar driver was calling. He told me he could not not make a call going out because so many drivers were calling him. It took me 3-4 days of calling to get thru. He said wait till he posted the loads then try calling and hope you get thu.

I was parked in Houston, that was kinda important because you had to be fairly close so he could give me the load. He has drivers calling from all over looking to deadhead to the area. So he was looking for truck near by.

Plus one of the FEMA wearhouse was in Fort worth TX so you has to be near that also.

LS was getting about $1,000 or $1,100 a day when I did it and we got about $650 a day. They just paid the day rate. The FEMA wearhouse in Fort worth TX was almost empty within 4 days.

I was supposed to pickup water but got the blue tarps because they just run out of water. I drove about 600 miles in 12 days. Something drivers might not think about is food and showers and bathroom while sitting. One stagging place had food it was volunteers bring food to drivers. After a week or so and at a different stagging area the government had this 53 foot trailer food company from California. They were making food for national guard. They had school bus that would come pick us up at staging area and drive us to food trailer and we could get 2 meals a day with national guard people.

It was kind of a mess with FEMA sending trucks to New Orleans and the shooting. Driver said the National guards that were escorting them had bigger emergency and they would just drive off and leave the truck to their own to find the delivery point.
