Considering three DC's in Georgia, Monroe, Douglas & LaGrange, is one better than the others?

Thanks for the reply. I'm considering a change, focusing on pay & no-touch freight. I'm about 150 miles from Douglas, and interested in staying out 5 or 6 days at a time.
After reading several threads, the opinions are pretty grim. Not many people go to the blogs, to comment, if they're happy. I'm still trying to understand the "WM terminology", and figure out which threads apply to what I'm interested in.
I'm not sure of the term used for the driver's that run 5 or 6 days, and still curious about the "onboarding" actual meaning.
Any help on where to find info, is appreciated.
P.S. It says I'm a "Bobtail Member". I don't know what That means, either.

not sure what you mean about terms. you apply to Douglas if theres a open on drive4walmart.com . get hired on and go to work. you take the driving position thats open at the time of hire. we bid all the jobs over here and low seniority drivers get the left overs. even if you get a spot on hire. doesnt mean you will keep it on the bid. just apply and keep open mind and grow. it will all workout

As far as terms, I meant "onboarding", and there's been several initials, that I wasn't sure what they meant. Also, what does "spot on hire" mean?
As far as taking what the open positions, does that mean any work, like yard or local, etc..., or can you only get offered the road positions, to be out for the week?
I'd hate to drive 3 hrs to be sent back home, just to return in 10 hrs. Local work would not work for me, considering the distance.

This thread is working as I hoped, being pretty informative. Thanks!
I get "part time" & "full time", but what exactly does extra or program mean?

The programs consist of 5 or 6 days on and 2 to 5 days off. There is more than enough work available. You will have the opportunity to bid on programs that come open thru out the year and there is a rebid that happens once a year. You will be hired on as an OTR driver. You may stay in the local area all week or run a couple different states.

but remember this. 5 days off comes with the 5 on 5 off job. this is for the slow down drivers. not saying you couldnt get it. but standard time off is 2-3 days each week. rebids are gtm choice. not every dc bids every year. some dont bid at all. remember every dc transportation office runs its self. sets its own jobs and times out.
