After reading several threads, the opinions are pretty grim. Not many people go to the blogs, to comment, if they're happy. I'm still trying to understand the "WM terminology", and figure out which threads apply to what I'm interested in.
I'm not sure of the term used for the driver's that run 5 or 6 days, and still curious about the "onboarding" actual meaning.
Any help on where to find info, is appreciated.
P.S. It says I'm a "Bobtail Member". I don't know what That means, either.truckdriver31 Thanks this. -

As far as terms, I meant "onboarding", and there's been several initials, that I wasn't sure what they meant. Also, what does "spot on hire" mean?
As far as taking what the open positions, does that mean any work, like yard or local, etc..., or can you only get offered the road positions, to be out for the week?
I'd hate to drive 3 hrs to be sent back home, just to return in 10 hrs. Local work would not work for me, considering the distance.Last edited: Aug 28, 2021

This thread is working as I hoped, being pretty informative. Thanks!
I get "part time" & "full time", but what exactly does extra or program mean?truckdriver31 Thanks this. -
The programs consist of 5 or 6 days on and 2 to 5 days off. There is more than enough work available. You will have the opportunity to bid on programs that come open thru out the year and there is a rebid that happens once a year. You will be hired on as an OTR driver. You may stay in the local area all week or run a couple different states.
