Hello sir. New to the forum. First truck here. 2015 Columbia. My ESN is 06RE140569 Engine model number 6067MK60. Based on this VERY informative thread from you gear jammers I've learned I have the standard build as oppose to the Premium build. I'm not looking to get 600hp but I would like to get a little more power. I wrench on my truck myself. I installed a BW waste gated turbo because my original Garret was waste gated. I ordered a new exhaust manifold from PAI and they gave me the wrong part number to my engine so now the distributor M&D out of Texas is requesting the manifold back but I used the gasket and hardware for the new turbo install. They're gonna credit me back partial what I paid. I can only get about 28psi boost so I'm thinking I need an ECM tune. If I can get close to 500hp/1800lb tq I'll be satisfied with that. I also have the 3.58 rears as well. Don't know if dropping 3.42 in change that much. I'm running currently 1500rpm at 68mph. A careful balance between power and efficiency I guess when it was ordered. I also have extreme blow by. I ordered this stuff called flushing oil concentrate from Proadditives.com. I'm hoping I don't need and overhaul my first year in business. That would sting something fierce. Any insight would be appreciated sir.

You just might need an overhaul if the blow by is as excessive as you are saying. Best bet is to take it to a reputable shop where they can measure the amount of blow by, conduct a compression test and perform an oil analysis as well. That is the only way you are going to find out if you need an overhaul. Don’t throw additives at the engine hoping to avoid the inevitable.

Hopefully you made it a priority in your business plan to have a sizable maintenance account to cover the cost of things when they break.

    Best of luck to you.

Yeah it's at the shop now. I decided NOT to throw parts at it hoping to fix a whining noise at the front of the engine. Didn't start until after I replaced the water pump. Thinking it's the accessory drive pulley but hoping it's not the bull gear. Getting the shop to look at/bump the ecm, adjust the clutch abd change the transmission gear oil. It's very hard to believe the rings are shot at 370k miles on a reman. That's why I'm trying the additive first. I'll have them compression test it while there. It has power enough to pull 40k in the box though. I'm gonna run it til late winter 2022 then assess the performance. If I need an overhaul this early in the game she's gonna put out 600hp 2100tq because I'm getting at least 5 solid years out of it.

Thanks to all the shared info in this post. I am considering the purchase of a 2000 international with a 500hp Detroit. I have not seen it in person, but I can see the 500hp in the picture of the engine. Would this be a favorable engine to upgrade. What specs would someone guess at? Injector part numbers etc. The rest of the specs on this truck is good. 18 speed wheelbase for what I do etc. Price is cheap because of it's age and mileage 1.3 million. I'm prepared to rebuild this engine if it needs it. What rebuild kit would be the best parts to produce good useable and reliable power and support the performance turbo and ecm tunes, etc. Is there a gain to be had with a different cam? I pull oversized loads. We always travel as a convoy and I want to be able to keep up with the other trucks in the group. Most are running 600+ hp. They get mad at the truck I drive now. It belongs to some else and he hasn't turned up the power. Thanks for any help

You miss the Detroit at all? I bought my first Detroit powered truck at an auction because it sold dirt cheap. DDEC 5. Got rid of the EGR and had it tuned. Runs pretty decent, but coming from Big Cats takes some getting used to. I like how cheap it is to buy parts for, but my Cats did better on mileage!

My detroit got a bit better fuel mileage over the cats. That's the only thing I miss. But overall there both great engines
