So, I was at a Kenworth dealership getting a service done and was walking the lot looking at trucks and saw my first W900 with an auto transmission. I started a convo with the salesman and he said it was ordered by a driver that has a manual transmission restriction and can't find a place to get the training to get it removed. I guess his preference was for an 18 speed but he had to settle for what he could drive. So, with the being said, has it become practically impossible for those with a manual restriction to find training to get it off if they desire? If not, where would they go?

This is not the cheapest way but a friend of mine ended up going to a local cdl school but just for the last week so he just took the shifting and road training and then took the road test.

Schools in my area still testing with manual

All he needs to do is find a test site that has a manual transmission truck he can rent to test in. I'm a CDL instructor in Ohio. He will also need a new class A unrestricted CLP and won't be able to test until 2 weeks after the purchase of his new permit

Simple. Get in a manual on the yard and practice.
