Hey guys. I bought a 2010 M2 with an 8.3 Cummins and Allison 3000hs auto. Overall happy. It was a good deal I couldn't pass up. Not the best for hotshot, but at $20k with only 220k miles, no leaks, clean, airbrakes, etc etc, i took the plunge.

Eventually I'll need to regear it, 6 speed, 5.63 gears.. 2k rpm at 65mph and 6mpg..

I knew these things going into it, so save me the 'big mistake' comments lol.

Anyway, the (major) contractor who owned it prior to me had a 2 inch hitch installed. Looks like it was done properly with good welds and heavy material to the frame. Problem is there are no DOT markings.. I'd like to slip my pintle on there for some power only pintle work but I'm worried about not having dot markings on that hitch. Anybody here have experience with that? Not sure if it's alright or if I should try to find a shop that will weld on a hitch with stamped weights.

    UPDATE:

For anyone who has this same question in the future.

I spoke with the Officer who did my safety audit and he says these receivers rarely have stamps or stickers and as long as the hitch/ball that is inserted into the receiver has a rating, you are good to go.

Obviously take that as you will, this is just the opinion/interpretation of one officer, in Arizona. So your results may vary.

The fuel mileage is really low, the two I had were getting 9 to 11

Hey @Ridgeline , thanks for chiming in. I too thought the economy was super low. This is the figure based on total mileage and total fuel consumed when the computer is plugged in. I plan to fill it full and run a 30 mile test today.

Were yours setup the same? ISC-300 with auto Allison 3000hs single axle at 5.63 rear end?

I am wondering if there is something else going on dropping the fuel economy

Looks like maybe it was a beverage truck in its previous life? Do you know any history on it?

5.63 gears, dang thats gotta go!

    What are your first impressions?

First impressions, i like it. Clean, super short wheel base, gets in and out of anything. Way better than my f350. Has a fifth wheel, gooseneck and bumper pull hitch, and air brakes. Air brakes are the best part.

    Was leased to praxair
