In all honesty van is the way to go, until these places figure out how to load and unload trucks quickly and not standing around ############ and they figure out how to pay more ill always prefer van loads. I got scales on the truck and trailer now because those produce companies always tell me its gonna be a 40k pound load and turns out to be 44k to 46k so i gotta waste another hour for them to take 2 or 3 pallets off. I know a lot of drivers base everything on mileage, i base mine on time, i look at the total miles, i figure 400 to 500 miles average per day with a 4 hour load time and 4 hour unload time for reefer and 2 hour load with 2 hour unload for van. If im going 2000 miles with deadhead included i figure that's gonna take 4 to 5 days of my time so if the load doesn't pay at least $4k i wont take it, especially with fuel being $3.75 a gallon over here on the west
