If they went to a CDL mill they could get a driver for every truck they had available .

Might be hard to ask them anything.

After all, they had Christmas plans and nothing should interfere.:biggrin_25514:

any stranded Arrow driver may seek help getting home or a place near home for the hollidays from Raider Express trucks as long as it's within our means. Just ask them to check with dispatch first an we will help as much as we can.

This stinks to high heaven. Tulsa World reports that they have been sued for more than half a million dollars for unpaid bills. Looks like this has been going for months. As for Freightliner and International helping these drivers unless I read it wrong you have your choice between a bus ticket home OR $200. Not both. YIPPEE!!!! There are posts at the Tulsa World from people looking for their Freight, asking if anyone knows how to get in touch with someone at Arrow. I know Daimler and International have a right to their equipment but usually the way they repo'd this stuff is a last resort. There's more to this than the financial people securing their property. I truly hope and pray all the drivers get home for Christmas. I will say this though it's not much comfort at this time:" When one door closes another door opens". We may not see it but it's just possible this is for the best. It may wake some people up to what's happening in this industry. I know- wishful thinking on my part, but maybe there's a silver lining in this. Hard to find one right now.

nobody apparently reads financials ie credit scores... arrow brokerage went up in smoke the 1st of the year, owing monies ! then opened new brokerage....big red flag! then they went and low balled a shipper in chicago which was a lucrative run 2.00 a mile to .88 a mile tarped! now this is a pet peve of mine.. people act shocked at the economy!! carriers going out of business !! ect read ... knowledge is power .... the housing market bubble bursting!! economy 101 .... I tried to warn a arrow driver back in oct, that was asking about securing a load , during our conversation, because he had ran alot of miles that week all was good!! people open your eyes!! there is a bigger picture to this industry:biggrin_25510:

And here is where the ripple effect takes over.

In this case, it's a tidal wave though. Now the shipper must alert his customers that he may have to take his price up to what it used to be, And the receiver must sharply mark his prices up to compensate. And the customer goes ape ###.

The real cost of this closing, has yet to be determined.

"Little Miss", as her crew calls her, repects her more than any company owner I know. And it's mainly because despite the fact that she is the BossLady, she IS one of them! She has done every job there is to be done on that yard.

I remember when she wrecked her Catera.. was t-boned by a drunk driver... she didn't want to drive again. I was learning to drive the big rigs myself at the time. And I taught her to drive the rigs as I learned to drive them... After my husband left the company, she started learning dispatch. Then decided that maybe she better get back into driving a 4 wheeler.. so she bought a 92 Roadmaster Wagon.

She just worked her way into what she does now, and she is good at it. She's had the same drivers since she took the reins 4 years ago. There is no driver turnover there. She expects the very best, and that is what she hires and gets.

If I ever started a trucking co it'd be required that every single employee have trucking experience. When these people turn cos over to their bratty sons and daughters whom never once drove a truck or had to work for anything in their lives thats when things go bad.

Personally people like the guy running Arrow should be shot, or castrated.

This was one of the things I liked about System Transport. Jim Williams started that company with one truck and one flatbed trailer and built it into what it is today. You have to have respect for someone that does that.

I just read about this today and I have to say, it affects me deeply, having been there. The difference for me was they wanted the truck I was driving delivered back home where I lived. The trailer was sold or repossessed off my back along the way. Had to scrape to get fuel enough to make it back. These drivers are stuck with nothing. That's just dirty. ########.

Used to be that the trucking companies CARED about the drivers.

Now, it is only the money.
