One thing I’ve run into with comparing my local shop with other people and their “national program discounts” is that they pay less for their tires, but I pay less for mounting, shop fees, tire disposal fees and other gotchas, and I get substantially better credits for my casings.

It pays to look closely at the “net out the door” price.

With a national account such as landstar, you buy the tires on the national account and pay for anything extra mounting, balancing, valve stems yourself. National accounts usually Bill the shops amount for the extras plus a fee. Also when paying for the extras out of pocket make sure the ######## at the tire shop don't try to sneak it on the national account invoice and get paid twice. Cough, Loves, cough, cough. Good luck fixing that 2 months later.

I use my Fleet One fuel card to get my discounts. I bought a set of 11R22.5 Goodyear Endurance LHS yesterday, $537 + install. It wasn't bad seeing that they wanted $850ea with out a discount.
