Good for you dude, noticed how they said "subsidies" Without those "subsidies" it wouldn't be "competitive". Keep making that money I guess.

mid you read the article they reference Unsubsidized rates - again rather than just spouting an uninformed rhetoric

try using google for just a minute or 2. I even have you a road map to help you get started

    you have to wait
this clearly is a screw up but it wouldn’t be an off route issue.

The main screw up here was whoever in Austin issued him a route requiring him to go south on 80 in the first place. The permit should have kept him on 183 ever since he left the tollway.

it doesn’t work that way, sorry

the permit office requires the transport company to conduct and file a route survey for the entire route traveled in Texas.

Any restrictions for size or weight that requires an override (ie explicit permission) is then sent to the district engineer for approval and sign off.

The route surveyor certifies that the route can be done and then permits are issued. This process can take anywhere from 3 days to several weeks.

the tollways have their own restricted are generally not available to loads of this size.

it is a very complex process to move loads of this size - there are unfortunately this that go wrong.

for scale - these loads are nearly 4 times as large as a regular 5 axle configuration and with the rear over hang in the range of 80 plus feet, there is always risk when moving.

When other vehicles get around the loads - a significant number will refuse to give the additional room that good sense would dictate - this is both cars and large trucks.
This makes a difficult job even more challenging.

So ####ing true.. I'm a oversize driver.. I will stop the ####ing highway before I take a dangerous chance. Call state police and figure it out. Companies hire drivers who just don't care today. I like too know the company name.

Apparently he was on route and those blades cross regularly.
I haul hazmat and know how quick those trains approach after I stop and all is clear, start across and the lights fire up. Definitely a pucker moment.

I'm on your side, I think windmills are a bandage on a heart attack. I read, ( and all you know it alls, get ready) but statistically speaking, for the amount of energy we use, a windmill barely generates enough juice to light the light at the top compared to what we need. That's why they need 400 windmills to make like 10% of what a nuclear or diesel plant generates. Plus it looks terrible and you're right. If there's no wind, they are useless. I'd hate to have those spinning in my back yard. And,,,blades need to be replaced? No foolin'. Sounds like a horse crap idea all the way around.
