Anybody in here know if there is a separate sensor for HIGH coolant temp from the regular coolant temp sensor? High temp warning comes on sporadically sometimes at 190°, sometimes at 205°. Hell, it came on the day just idling at a customer at 180°. Already changed the sensor on the front of the thermostat housing but didn't solve it. Maybe changed the wrong sensor? Any help would be appreciated.
Coolant temp. sensor replacement help?

P/N for switch for high temperature switch is Q27-6000-225. It is in port 34 in this screenshot.
Port 12 is sending unit for gauge. Which did you replace?Patriotleasing, QUALITYTRUCK and 062 Thank this. -
Yup, replaced the sensor in port 12. P/N 16-10407. Figures. Will order the correct one Monday. Thank you for your time and help!

Had an 05 379 with Acert that I never could keep the temp gauge from running amuck. Replaced both sending units- one for gauge and one for ecm. Replaced gauge with new. Worked ok for a few days then back to showing hot all the time vs checking with temp gun or ecm. Finally bought a Scangauge D to monitor what ecm was reading and problem circumvented. Scangauge D is a pretty handy item.
