So a few days ago an opportunity dropped into my lap offering more money, home daily and weekends off. No more OTR.

I sent my two notice, spoke with the fleet manager and after we hung up, he sent a message saying he'll run me till the agreed date and bring me back to the terminal.

Next thing I know I'm on a 2500 mile run to the pacific northwest a week away from the quitting date. This is kind of out of character for the guy. On top of that, the compliance office has suddenly vanished when it comes to getting records.

Is it possible I screwed up sending that notice or am I just being paranoid? Dunno why but I got a bad feeling I can't seem to shake.

You did the right thing, and he/they are taking advantage/revenge. Chalk it up to experience. Explain to new job, if he is a good man, you will have credit with him. If not, may not be as good as you thought. You have learned about your present, hope the new is good. Get settled in, I would "advertise' for the one you are leaving.

I had a similar situation with job that I worked at for a few years, in my case it was just a dispatcher being stupid (shocker), and a quick call to the upper management put a quick halt on that.

Hell I talked to them yesterday. They already gave me a hiring date and seem ok with it.

The full situation is I have two jobs. One already cleared me. The one I posted about is a dream job that showed up after the fact. So either way I have a job waiting. Plus I have airfare saved if this turns out to be a screw job. I'm more preparing for a fight because I'm not abandoning this truck and trailer.

Yes., there is. A few honorable men still offer, and the grubby little souls who take revenge/advantage will get theirs someday. Karma rolls around, slowly but surely. One of his other trucks may miss a load, one may have an expensive accident, may have 2 abandonments and lose 2 good account. OP may never know, but it will be repaid. Faith, my man, faith.
