I don't remember that being a thing, but jean jackets. I was left out of that one until sometime in high school. Roll forward 30 years and my girls just HAD to have Converses. My mind was blown, because those cheap canvas shoes were "poor people" shoes when I was in school lol.

 

I really recommend people read the Gorean series by John Norman. It's the pen name of a professor of philosophy. He doesn't have the best writing ability. But the story he relates. Shows the difference between our weak life and a strong healthy life.

The main character is a man from Earth. That over time comes to see the toxicity of our culture vs the healthiness of the Gorean culture. His books were demonized by the fem-Nazis that took over the feminist movement.

 

Starter coats were an urban thing. I was born and raised in the Chicago land area. When I was in school, k Swiss and Jordan's were the thing. Everyone had to have Jordan's. I remember the first cd player I've ever seen. My buddy had a paper route.....i.e., he had money. He bought one. Then obviously had to buy the cds for it..lol. thing was horrible. You look at it sideways and it would skip. He had an older brother with a car. You had to hold that thing like a newborn just to keep it from skipping.

 

I think it's the lazy and desperate way of anyone, men and women to meet a "better half"....

 

The first CD players just plain sucked. 90's trucking, I did the walkman with the cassette adapter, then eventually a head unit which wasn't much better. Biggest question, Columbia or BMG? You got to put stickers on a card for your 12 "free" CD's or $.01 or something.

 

I think the vice versa is also true..... Actually, I think that bars are the wrong places for one (man or woman) to find a date... maybe if all one is looking is casual sex... but even then...

 

And the crappy disc changers. If you did everything right, the CD would still get scratched.

 

Well... there are... I don't know how to call.... "special" cases or different situations when guys, and girls go online looking for foreign "brides" and "grooms".... I know some folks who have done that...

 

That would not happen in Brasil... where there are plenty of stunning, hot gorgeous looking ladies for each male... and males are pretty good looking too...

 

I only know 1 hot georgeous woman.......and I am having trouble winning the argument lately!
