No had a 3 axle alignment when I purchased all new tires and shocks. This ghost problem has been going on longer then that. The dealership wouldn’t look at or scan truck to see if the calibration was correct. But after I deliver tomorrow morning I’m going to go and have another 3 axle alignment and then to the dealership there to make sure calibration is good. Mystery/ghost truck.

HeavyD thank you so much for putting the bug in my ear about 3 axle alignment. You found a ghost that no one has. I was thinking a lot about what you said and I went to a “professional” shop. Bought 2 new steer tires and 3 axle alignment. Tech asked what symptoms were I told him stability and felt like I was on black ice most of the time. He hooked up the lasers and right away he told me it’s #2 axle, sure enough it was shimmed to the left 5/32nd to much. The other 2 axles were fine. He pulled them out and immediately the reading went to almost normal. Told me to drive truck and it will rotate back in place. I have driven over 500 miles since and truck is riding/handling like a new Prostar. You are an awesome individual and please keep your knowledge of the international’s going to help all of us. You will be my go to. Thank you so very much.

BTW had 2 more 3 axle alignments after and they didn’t catch the problem. Lesson learned, stay away from truck stop shops. Pay the little extra, could save you. I have spent $22k just to fix a $265 problem.

    AModelCat Thanks this.

Yes, glad to hear it is handling good now. I have been doing alignments since I was a second year apprentice. Yes, there are lots of shops out there that hang sensors and just check for a green number and move on. There are still lots of good techs out there!

AModelCat, Packer1077 and spsauerland Thank this.

I have a feeling it was wearing the tires on that axle quite a bit more than it should have.

I also had stability issues I didn't drive the truck for over 2 months put 8 new drive tires my load trip I noticed the truck was unstable in curves or grooved roads like losing balance check pitarm, dragging ,steering rod they were all fine I park the in pay yard then I decided to go under the truck and look for anything out of the ordinary I found both my 2 right side airbags were missing nuts on the bottom of the airbags it really took me by surprise I don't how both came out but suspect something fishy. How will the drive be without those nuts.Best regards all
