It looks intimidating but it's the lock cylinder itself that really matters. I bet it can be easily picked. I can pick most Master locks in seconds.77fib77 Thanks this.

The fact you think the average joe blo criminal is running around picking locks says a lot.
Being careful and paranoid are two different things. I gave the OP an honest answer, if you don’t like it too bad. -
The degree of theft now is way higher than the average joe. So you know...
The problem is that this type of loss is hard to recover. Normally, a victim would receive an insurance money and then buy another trailer but you won't find a replacement these days. Maybe for a fleet with 30+ trailer, they could manage but for a solo o/o it is a kill. I know now why in the old days, they were hanging horse thieves on the spot. I would not mind seeing it now.larry2903, TripleSix, Midwest Trucker and 3 others Thank this. -
The fact you don't own any equipment yet are posting in the OWNER OPERATOR section dispensing company driver advice is too bad for you.

It’s an open forum, meaning anyone can chime in. Is there a particular reason you’re being so salty?
I’m not going to hijack the thread I’ve already given sound advice, feel free to message me tho and we can discuss it. -
No never leave a loaded trailer, unless at the direction of your dispatcher, then maybe not.
-
"Sound advice" from a company driver in the wrong section. If you were an owner operator you wouldn't think that advice is so "sound". Do you ask your plumber for legal advice? Maybe your mechanic can give you surgical advice too.

Nice straw man argument.
It’s still truck driving, not brain surgery.
A little common sense and due diligence goes a long way, but keep it up with the paranoid fear it’s a good look. -
Talk to the shop people, not the store cashiers. They can care less about truck drivers. I've has multiple occasions where I pick up about 3 hours from the house and sometimes drop my trailer at a Pilot and PC home if I have time. The shop guys let me drop it with the oil change and repair trucks. I'll put my lock on the king pin and they put a maintenance tag on the front of it. If you went in and asked a cashier to do the same, they'd just stand there like a deer in the headlights having no clue what you're asking.
