    I got home yesterday, barely.

The place where we live just said that bobtail trucks are no longer allowed to park in our parking lot, so it is either park on the street or at the drop yard in Inver Grove.
I really don't want to park on the street, so that leaves Inver Grove.
So now I have to rely on my sister to shuttle me back and forth, and on her work schedule.
I got to Inver Grove at 1330 yesterday, and had to wait until 2130 for her to pick me up.

After about 6 years here, and they pull this crap.

rest area at wb8 ex 85 in az.
left jurupa termone I at 0530 and got as far as Barstow when other driver text me that his trucks radiator blew.
called him and he said water and steam is spewing from top of radiator. was waiting on on road to set up a tow
so text my dl and asked what was I gonna due
so about an hour later he text me to head to pheonix terminal when I knew he was getting towed. (dl day off today but he still checks up on his drivers).
so for the 1st time I took the 40e to 95s to 62 to the 10.
think it's was faster than taking 40e to 93 to.pheonix.
so Tcalled that load and grabbed this one and came here for the nite. was thinking about going to yuma az at loves but had 6 minutes to spare didn't feel like taking the chance

tcalling this load at dropyard in Calexico
then bobtailling it to jurupa termimal

My middle daughter and I are just too alike.

We attended my nephew's wedding today.
It was nice, and out in the middle of nowhere in WI.
Surrounded by corn fields on all sides, dirt roads leading in to the little alcove that had about a dozen small cabins.
The weather could not have been better. Low 70's with a few clouds in the sky.

But, neither of us likes crowds so we were both uncomfortable. We left shortly after the ceremony.
It was about 100 people, which is hard for either of us to deal with. Too much noise and too many thoughts, and too many strangers around at one time that want to 'get to know you'.

We were glad to get back home where avoidance therapy is not needed.

    dptrucker and dwells40 Thank this.

When my sister got home today she told me something strange, but a bit flattering.
Two women (separately) at the wedding had asked the bride's mother about the guy in the western dress.
(The suit I was wearing was a decidedly western cut, and different from anything else there. Boots, bolo tie... (no to the hat))

That's Matthews uncle, she told them.
They seemed interested in getting to know me better.

It was flattering, but... no thanks.
Too much drama and effort for my liking, these days.

    dwells40 Thanks this.

Coming off home time on a holiday is rather boring.
I sat for 5 hours before my first pplan, and it was not doable in that time frame. They need a team for that one.
Several more came through which I either countered, turned down or simply ignored because of the screwy times.
And this late in the day, on a holiday when all the truck stops are full, I am not going to start driving with 'hopes'.

One of them could have been sent to me this morning (the pick up was already late) and I would have taken it, but they waited 6 more hours to send it to me.
It would have been an on time delivery, too.

And, actually, a few of them I could/would have done if I had the pplan by 1000 when I came back.
But they like to wait for the last possible minute, or beyond by hours, before they actually get around to planning something for me.

4 days on home time, and they can't figure out a load for me until nearly 1600 on the day I get back at 1000?

Inept is as polite as I can put it.

    dptrucker Thanks this.

    I was put OOS today.

Along I-55 in IL, the weigh station was closed but there were cops pulling trucks over for inspections and I got snagged.
Everything was fine except for my red air line on the truck. It had some wear and the reinforcement was showing.
Strange place, just below the glad hand, and I see no way for that area to rub on anything. Especially enough to wear it down like that.
And the area was very smooth. I could probably do the same thing with a very sharp knife.

Anyway, he put me out of service.
He gave me a choice of either going to the rest area just up ahead or go back to the Love's.
I chose the Love's, and that is were I got it fixed.

dptrucker, dwells40 and fairshake Thank this.
