Great School. You have to earn it. This school does not hand out CDL's lightly. I graduated in class 525. Only 19 of 38 finished. The instructors will teach you what you need to know and more!!

Great to see you Tim!! I really hope several of those folks who didn't make it through (this time around) go back and get their CDL and certificate.
kickin chicken Thanks this. -
Sam, it was good seeing you the other day also, and CONGRATS on graduation. Sorry for the late reply, got caught in that storm up in Hagerstown MD. That was fun setting for a day and a half in the snow. You now have a good foundation to start your career. Understand there is still alot to learn, but you are going in the right direction, you will do fine. Good luck with Wierner. Be carefull, and be safe.
Merry Christmasserious_sam and kickin chicken Thank this. -
Merry Christmas to all and happy new year.

Merry Christmas everyone!!
Soon (in the next week or two) I will create a new thread on my experiences with Werner and put the link here, in case anyone is interested in following me throughout my new career. What made me think of it was the fact that I've been following ScooterDawg's experiences at his new company and thought it was good reading.kickin chicken and davidw Thank this. -
Hello class #524,
I have just started working for Watkins and Shepard (two weeks ago) and am home for three days for Christmas and would just like to say Merry Christmas and Happy New Years to every one.
W/S is so far a good company, although you can't take your truck home. You have to leave it at the termenal that is three hours away from my home. (Conover NC) They haul furniture out of that termenal, but you haul anything and everything back. I have hauled a trailer full trash back from NJ to NC. The good thing about hauling the furniture is the $20 for every stop you make, even if it is just one piece per stop you get $20.
The one thing i do not like that i thought i would is being away from home, but other than that i love driving.
and last i would like to thank Van for pointing me towards W/Sserious_sam, frenchie, davidw and 1 other person Thank this. -
TUKER
I was unable to pm you so i hope you get this. The people at W/S seem to be good people so far. they start you out at .27 cents a mile and $20 for every furniture drop and/or $5 for everything else you pick up and drop. Your not allowed to take the truck home you have to leave it at W/S terminal. You're gone for 3 to 8 days at a time however the longest I have been out is 4. Work is a little slow right now, I'm hoping it will pick up soon so I can make more money. Hope this helps.TURKER and kickin chicken Thank this. -
Lastat,
As long as I can get them all of my paperwork, I believe I will start orientation with W/S on Monday, Jan 25th down in Conover!! Starting to get pretty excited about it since I've heard it's a fairly intense program they've got down there. But hey.... if I can finish the course at Johnston Community, I'm sure I can tackle Watkins & Shepards training as well. hehehehehekickin chicken Thanks this. -
Just finished orientation with Watkins and Shepard. Will start a new thread about my experience there ASAP.
kickin chicken and davidw Thank this.
