On Dec 22 with out warning Arrow closed it's doors. No one is answering there phones and there fuel cards have been shut off. This has left many of there drives stranded all across the country with no way home for x-mas. They are in negotiations with there primary lender but it dose not look good.
Drivers in this day and age do not take the word of the company that they are strong and are not going away. Do not find your self in this position. Stranded hundreds of miles from home. Get on line and check for your self how stable they are and always keep a fund set aside to get home with. -
You don't see the thousands of trash haulers from Toronto running their garbage to dump in MI . Wasn't the purpose of speed limiters to conserve fuel and reduce greenhouse gases ?
-
I believe I said ALMOST ALL... not every single truck. Speed limiters? Don't get me started on that. Ontario and Quebec pushed that on everyone claiming it was in the name of safety. So why not limit the cars too? Reduce greenhouse gases? Let's see we have another set of emission regulations being crammed down our throats next year. What more do you want?Working Class Patriot Thanks this.

I don't care what they do in Canada....
Just like in Mexico.....
Just don't send your cheap a z z ed trucks here...
Just don't claim that your trucks are safer and claim your drivers are better than the US trucks and the US drivers....
You have to remember...
Trucking was born in the US...ever since the first "truck driver" figured out you can take the model T and put a wagon bed on it to haul freight... -
There is no defense to be had in this situation. I understand what an undertaking it would be to have a civil shutdown of the company. But, this was not a last minute decision. They did not just wake up Monday morning and say "I think we will close the doors today and to hell with everyone else". They had to know, maybe last week, the week before that, maybe last month. They could have routed drivers closer to home. They could have laid off 10% of the fleet at a time starting in November. They could of sent messages to all drivers saying when they finished the load they were on it would be the last. There are thousands of ways they could of handled this where they would not have lost that much money. The way they did it cost them quite a bit. Think, 1400 trucks, that is 4200 tarps, 15000 chains-straps-binders, and quite a bit more equipment that was going to the highest bidder at truck stops s the drivers could get home.
I hate the fact that I trusted this company. I am sick when I think about all the oppurtunities that I passed up because I was DEDICATED and loyal to Arrow. Some of you may laugh at this, but it is who I am. I told Arrow I would stick it out through all the tough times and expected the same treatment in return. How could a company be this cruel? Why doent someone come out and tell the truth about why they ruined so many lives. I am just sick over this. -
Not to single you out, just riding in on your coat tails. But it could be MUCH worse.
Consider the guy down the street from me, who worked for the same company for 5 years...and paid into his insurance plan like a good employee.
Then discover your child needs major surgery and lengthy follow up treatments. Only to find out there is NO insurance plan, the owner had been stuffing the money in his pocket, and paying the small bills over the years as they came into his office. -
... they sued right?
-
The latest I saw, the lender wants their money right now. They were probably months behind in payments and decided to do this a while back. Just take what they could and run. Sucks how rich people always get away with it.

any driver that reads his qualcomm when it beeps new he was laid off at 8am on monday morning. they sent out a message as soon as their meeting was over. i was never told about any thieft charges or anything but i didnt hang around to find out. i packed my crap and hit the road. i was stranded in reno. not a bad place to be stranded lol but considering i was broke and they owe me for 3100 miles from last week. dont even say it i am well aware that i wont see that check just saying. anyway. there was one driver that got fuel and when they found out that arrow closed up he left his truck sitting right on the fuel island took the keys and walked to the freightliner dealer to get a ride to the bus. lol.
