I've been trying to find out about hauling new trailers from the factories to the dealerships or directly to trucking companies who purchase them, but I'm having no luck making any headway. Do these loads go through brokers (if so, who?) or do the shippers work directly with O/Os?

And what are typical rates for this kind of work?

    Thanks in advance.

I was leased on a company that does this work. These are most definitely handled by a broker. They pay a couple hundred but most allow you to load out the trailer. A few dealers wouldn't allow for the trailers to be loaded but these guys had a work around for that.

They had so many trailers they brokered out the trailers we couldn't pick up.

When I worked at Reohl we picked up our own new trailers. I imagine larger outfits do the same.

Would you mind sharing the name of the brokerage firm with me? Ultimately I would like to get my own authority and work directly with brokers.

Dealership who ordered the trailer pays the freight, not the factory.

I had a hard time with a new authority hauling new trailers from brokers. I had no problem getting a loaded trailer out of Laredo and delivering the freight. Then I had seven days to bring the trailer back to Laredo.

If I recall, it paid about $1500 for Laredo to Dallas. The downside there’s a reason why most of these loads are available. The receiver takes forever to unload.

I used many different brokers but TQL was the easiest.
