Need some help please

    Can anyone give me some advice on getting back on the road again. I got my lic at the end of 05 have about 6 months been calling around and have been told to go back to school. My record is clean but have not driven for 18 months.Also have less than a year of over the road. Looking for a company to run team with and run reefer. Any one with any good advice please let me know. Thanks!

    i think that you will find since it has been so long and with as little experience as u do have that u will have to A. go back to school, or B. find a company that will put u out with a trainer , for the retraining period, i would start calling some of the bigger outfits , with some of the not so good names, like maybe swift or crete or werner or some of them to get your foot back in a truck, just be careful to never sign a lease!!

    I was in the same situation not so long ago. Swift, Crete have been saying no. Werner, wants 30days experience in the last 6 months. Things are getting very tough in this business, alot of it is driven by insurance companies. I caught a break, and found a local otr company that was willing to take a chance on me. He said the only reason was I had descent experience although it wasn't recent, but I have only worked for the family farm, then I worked for werner for 4+years, then I went into management with one company for 5 years, now this guy. I have no accidents, or tickets(knock on wood) I only tell you this to let you know how tough it has gotten.
