    Schneider kicking in

Truckload carrier Schneider National issued a statement Thursday saying its trucks and drivers would offer rides home, “or as close to home as possible,” to an estimated 1,400 drivers who may have been stranded by Arrow’s abrupt action.

GOD BLESS Schneider for there humanitarian deed, that LOW LIFE OUTFIT needs to close there doors. They knew ahead of time what was bound to happen and they chose to drop the ball at the last minute and abandon the back bone of there company ( The Drivers ). Those drivers were never offered any way home, instead they were told TUFF LUCK.

    OOIDA
The Owner-Operated Independent Drivers Association (OOIDA) put together a Facebook page where truckers have been posting their routes in case they can pick up stranded Arrow drivers along the way. OOIDA has helped half a dozen truckers get home so far, wrote spokeswoman Norita Taylor in an e-mail. Truckers from Michigan to Alabama chimed in with their phone numbers and upcoming routes, offering free rides, laundry at their homes, and hot meals.

I don't know how to help. What I'm willing to do is go to any truck stop, rest area, whatever, that is along I-10 in Mississippi. I'd like to hear from any drivers who know of a specific Arrow driver in critical need of a few bucks for food or other good use. I've got $100, maybe a little more, to contribute to the effort. Send me a PM if you can give me info and details. Thanks!

P.S. I guess this will have to be on a first come basis!

<Attention Arrow drivers: If you are driving an International, please take it to the nearest International dealership. Navistar Financial wants to help you get home and is offering a bus ticket or $200 cash.>

Why ain't that just downright neighborly. What a joke.
I'd like to offer an honest version of this statement.
Attention Arrow drivers: We want our #### truck back and are offering you a paltry $200 to endure this hardship that was not of your making.
This will save us untold thousands in recovery fees should we have to search for the truck and hire a driver to get it back.

Oh don't be so surly, It's probably more than the drivers have seen in weeks since Arrow was printing rubber checks. Or you could burn up what's left of the fuel for heat untill the repo-rigs show. (personally? I'd call around to repo outfits and see if they'd split the "finders fee" and drive the truck to their repo yard.)

Forgive my surliness, but since you seem knowledgeable in this area, isn't $200 a small fraction of what it would otherwise cost them through a repo outfit?
I think it would be fair to send the driver fuel money to get the truck to the dealer nearest his home anyway.

Well, like I said, if you contacted a repo company about a finders fee, you could probably get more than $200. Some guys are selling tarps, chains, CB's and steer tires. Might be more work, or you could just take the $200 from Dailmer.

If you think you're somehow gonna get compensated for the time lost working for a c r a p company, you're out of luck. So is the $200 in hand better than nothing?

That's a great idea the repo fee for a big truck and trailer it's got to be a few grand!
