I hope your Christmas on the road is better than mine was last year. I dropped a relay at the East St. Louis yard on the morning of the 25th and spent the rest of the day sitting bobtail in the always glamourous East St. Louis Pilot. I am home this year and more thankful than ever to be here.

Do you have any specifics on the "Obama stimulus program", I am starting CDL school on 12-28-09. Any financial help would be great. I would also like to say that I have enjoyed reading your comments and experiences at Roehl, they are one of the places that has sent me a prehire letter that I am considering. I have 8 years experience being an O/O of dump trucks and have decided to take to the open road.
Again thank you for sharing your experiences with the rest of us.

Rollinrock if are unemployed in TN go to your local Workforece Essestials. Mine was in the same office as the unemployment.

If you can go to a Tennessee Tech they are good. More training hours and Roehl will hire from them. The TN tech schools are less money. 36 days of class, $1400.

I just finished school 12/15 in Nashville.

 

WELL I WAS STUCK IN THE WEST COAST ON THE DEC.23RD NOT LOOKING LIKE I WAS GONNA MAKE IT HOME FOR CHRISTMAS. ROEHL PROMISED ME A WEEK PRIOR THAT I WOULD BE HOME WITH MY FAMILY. THEY KEPT THEIR WORD... THEY HAD ME DRIVE FROM OREGON TO UTAH AND FROM THERE PARKED MY TRUCK AT A CUSTOMER. THEY GOT ME A TAXI TO THE AIRPORT AND FLEW ME HOME. ITS WAS A ROUGH FLIGHT BUT I'M HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS, LIKE THEY PROMISED I WOULD. THANKS KICIA AND JIM FOR EVERYTHING. BECAUSE OF YOU I WAS ABLE TO BE WITH MY WIFE AND KIDS. Thanks for sharing that info with us. With the way it is in todays world, where the only news you hear is bad news, it's nice to hear something positive for once. I've been out over christmas, but it was my choice, told them to keep me out as long as I"m home for new years. Miles haven't been great, but with the weather, I really can't cover more than they are giving me anyway.

 

I am in Alabama and have scheduled to start school on 12-28-09 to get my CDL A. I will graduate on 01-15-2010 and should know more Monday or Tuesday as to which company I may choose to go with. Right now I have just about narrowed it down to TMC or Roehl. Thanks for you reply and any feedback is much appreciated.

 

if you go with roehl go ahead and get alabama coil certified. we are doing that now.

 

Yeah, one more thing to do. Ugh... I can't wait to get to a terminal and sit through that.
