Not sure, but that tractor has a 650 gallon water tank and 2 coal bunkers each with a capacity of 3000 pounds.
Looked up a few other videos on it and it has a top speed of 5 mph in high gear. By use of the auxiliary transmission that speed is cut in half. Basically it has 2 speeds.
What if it Snows?

A steam engine isnt efficient. If anything steam = fuel hog. The original gas guzzler. MPG wise they average around 2 mpg. The road locomotive if in high range (second gear)? Just a guess maybe 25 miles? Yet back then there were very few farms that would have a need to travel to another farm. Generally speaking these required man power to keep them going. A group of farmers wouldnt buy one of these road eangines. Nope one very rich land owner with alot of acreage. That farmer would have had a multitude of tasks that tractor served

Not wanting to piss off the OM by violating the page skipping rule, I read all of them. I not sure how you guys that work all the time stay caught up, but I'm going to have to figure it out.
But at least now I know how many feet in a fathom, which way is Port or Starboard and several other things that are useless info in a truck.Speed_Drums, dwells40, sealevel and 18 others Thank this. -
