What is a good dash cam that can activate if your parked car is hit? I’d like something sensitive because my car has been hit/scratched for the 6th time today at my apartment.

I might want to move it from my car to my truck if possible or maybe just get a second one. I had one from Amazon that was about 60$ and it was crap. The files kept getting corrupted, it had parked car detection but it never worked.

Also if anyone knows how much it would cost to get a sensitive alarm for my car please let me know. Thanks

I have SLIMKING D4. Like it very much. With SD card 256 G full 3 days on high resolution. Two cameras, one forward one rear. Easiest setup interface I ever seen.
Adjustable shock sensor sensitivity. You can setup to take photo when alarm is on.

The Garmin dash cams have that feature. I just got a dash cam 46 and like it so far. haven't used it much though

Sensitive alarm is easy. A basic car alarm from Crutchfield will do that, just zip tie the impact sensor to a hard part of the car. It will pick up every little disturbance around the car, including a loud stereo driving by

When my car is hit it’s usually in the corner of the bumper. Would that camera pick up something like that? Or even a door being hit against my car? I have several thousands of dollars in damage already. I’m getting a new car and don’t want people to get away with this

Shock sensor is very sensitive. If I set sensitivity on HIGH and shake my ### inside the truck cab it will trigger alarm. Wind gusts will trigger as well. Front camera is wide angle to catch bumper corners. Screenshot (11).png

How much did that cost? And can it see license plates at night?

I'm not sure about license plates. Probably depends on how much light in parking area and software you use to look pictures.
    The price is on Amazon.

The Garmin 65 dashcam will do that if you buy the extra cable to wire it into the car fuse panel. I think the extra cable was $40 last time I looked. The camera itself was maybe $150. I bought it with fuel points.

I have a BlackVue 900 that has this feature. It runs on a five second delayed loop when sleeping, if any motion is detected while parked it saves that five seconds plus the subsequent 55 seconds (1 min) so you can get some of the before and all of the after of an incident.
One night while parked there was a lightning storm, it captured all of the lightning strikes.

That sounds really good. Motion detection would be a lot better since the scratches on my car likely wouldn’t set the shock sensor off. It says it’s about 1000 dollars but it’s probably worth it. Do you ever have problems with “corrupted files” when it records? The cheap one I have often deletes videos because of that.
