Just saw a blurb on Facebook...the Pine Cone is Closed...now, I'm not sure if its JUST the restaurant, or if its the whole facility. Anyone have some more information?

Looks like on Google maps, just the restaurant is closed... Wondering if it has to do with staffing issues? Definitely love stopping there to eat. Never disappointed by the food or service.
bthomann, Suspect Zero and bzinger Thank this. -
Claimed to be closed due to the evil Dem Governor (Johnson Creek is still open somehow).
FB page was just taken down after the newly fired and recently quit employees started dishing the dirt on the owners, seems they got $500K in PPP loans (from the same evil Dems, lol) but never passed it along.
Owners were taking the big tipping tables of regulars, portion sizes were getting smaller, sanitation was an issue, and folks didn’t want to work there anymore.
Also a lot-lizard problem they chose to ignore, but that might be a different subject….
Fact is you can walk into any restaurant in the Madison area and start flipping burgers for $16-20/hr now, and everyone knows it.
Latest posts on Reddit rumor they’re going to reopen tomorrow 9/14 so maybe it was just a stunt?
My depot is on the other side of the I, I’ll update after I drive by tomorrow.
Stay safe!bthomann, gentleroger and bzinger Thank this. -
You can still fuel up, get Chesters chicken, park, and get, uh…“services”, at least according to the FB page before it was yanked.
I drove by at 16:30 today (9/13) and looked like it (fuel) was open.
UPDATE 9/14 08:30CST
Restaurant still closed.
Fuel islands, repair shop, parking all availableLast edited: Sep 14, 2021

Final update on the Pinecone, owner failed to renew the lease, panicked, lied about stuff.
Folks lost their jobs without notice, sad state of affairs.
Restaurant closes after getting $464,040 in COVID funds; owner blames government then recants
(hit Reader View if a paywall pops up)
Fuel, repairs and parking still available. -
is out of business. -
Is the cb shop still there? ‘Back in the day’ that cb shop was one the best.
