No headache rack?

Our little girl is 237" wb. Headache rack stores chains, binders, and a 3 pc 8' tarp set. We could fit an 18" step box where the steps are, and another on the other side where the APU is. Ive seen lots of company trucks that put a smaller fuel tank on the passenger side, and hang a 24x24x48 box.

Granted we don't have a hood, but the point is there's lots you can do if you get creative.

Of course you can. It was/is the standard spec for years in Ontario. Open shallow headache rack is a must and most that have a chain tray on the bottom have a dent in it too lol a shallow King pin on the trailer helps a lot too. Most drop decks have a shallow pin setting anyways. A sliding 5th wheel helps too! As long as everything is no further back than the cab extensions you should be good to go! Good luck on the decision.

 

I got just enough room with a 48" bunk to haul around a dirt bike so I you oughta be ok. (244" wheelbase long hood Pete).

 

King pin placement doesn't matter when you're at a 90 degree angle

 

It matters. The corner of the trailer will be the closest point at around the 45° point in a turn.
