I extended a 670 by 54" to make a motorhome ....so added 10 feet of rail to the ends then moved the mid axle to the rear position and moved/re-drilled fotmr the rear axle.

The last one I had made was $490 and this included u joints, Weller truck parts.
There is a length restriction on them because they will twist if they are too long.
Someone I know made a motor home out of some kw and he had a long drive shaft made for it. The shop said he had to split it but he told them just to make it. They did, he has a horrible vibration between 30 and 50 to the point the truck could not be driven, so he ended up splitting the driveshaft and the vibration vanished.

Had a farm truck with a worn out slip yoke. Real farm truck with off road tires and no tag. Told him I just wanted the slip yoke cut off the old tube and a new one put on. He asked that's it? Yes: Its a farm truck. He brought it back as I requested for $500. Should have asked what a new one cost. It was under 4 feet long.
I thank everyone before and after this post for being correct in their area and application.
Still wonder what you are doing but price things before you jump in saving lots of money.Rideandrepair Thanks this. -
