Anything to avoid the high elevation of the Rockies! Or make sure you have your chains and know how to put them on!

 

I run it frequently from SLC to Phoenix. I use 15, to Hwy 20, US 89, i-17.

 

Good!! Less traffic on the route I take then! (o:

 

This individual seems to be the type who asks advise just to disregard it.

 

And don't forget... today is Wednesday and the OP was on Monday.
Is the OP STILL trying to figure out the better route?

Even posting yesterday about this, that is a lot of time wasted to save maybe several minutes on a route.

 

Most times saving minutes ends up costing hours.

Out in the west. The shortest route usually isn't the fastest route.

 

It depends on several factors, but there are definitely routes that the OOR is faster by an hour or more. My partner and I worked CO, WY, UT, SD, KS with food delivery, then went back to the patch working CO, WY, NM, UT, and now we're back into OTR where we spend a large part of our time in the PNW. You spend enough time and you learn the routes worth using, and those to avoid.
