New to trucking. Found a day cab for a steal of a price. The GVW is 65000. What the max load I’d be able to haul.

You can haul whatever the legal limit is for your state
-
So this small truck could carry 43000 LB load
-
Sounds like a single axle.
~30k ish depending on several hundred other factors -
Well is it a tractor or is it a straight truck?
If it is a 6 wheel tractor you are limited by what you can pull and you can certainly not pull 80,000 pounds.
And that rating is most likely the combination weight not the GVW.Bean Jr. Thanks this. -
Bit of confusion here. He said gvw of truck is 65k. Not gcvw.
Sounds like a tandem. Why else would he ask how much he can haul. So if its a tandem, HE can haul whatever the legal limit for that state he is in. Here in Pa, you can haul 80 thousand with tandem truck and tandem trailer. -
Single axle day cabs have a max gvw of roughly 32,000. 20k on the rears and 12k on the fronts unless they are ordered with hd equipment, then the front axle can be up to 18k
-
How many axles are on the truck, is it a sliding fifth wheel?
-
One axel and two axel. Guys what I’m trying to ask is if getting loads what’s the max I could fit in the body. I’m new. A buddy owes me money and he is willing to give me a truck to settle a debt.

A 3 axle straight truck/ box?
'88K100 and feldsforever Thank this.
