Worst mistake to make during job interview

It's not just in employment interviews. Don't know how many times i have heard people in every day conversations and about every third word is a "curse" word. Did they learn that language in Kindergarten?

 

People still look for jobs? I thought that was passé.

 

I think I might have had 1 actual interview in my life. Most cases its just been a BS session with the boss.

 

i used to hate the questions from the hiring person,

1) "why do you want to work here"

or

2) "how did you hear about us"?

my answer(s) would always be...

1) you had a job advertised

2) you had a job advertised

i'd get hired by my background, and experience, either as a mechanic in my youth, or as a trucker.

and i never used curse words, until the first day.

after all, i have some ethics and morals.

 

Emphasis on the last three words:ETHICS AND MORALS-that pretty much sums it all up in a nutshell! Something that is lacking in some aspects of society today!

 

Same here. And not just in trucking.

 

Complain all you want about society today lacking ethics and morals, tgey have them, but theyre not the same ones YOU value. Should they be? Maybe. Should the current ethics/morals be better thought out, absolutely. But the place to look for the roots of the shoddy version today has is in the past, in the 60s, ethics was a course preceded by at least rudimentary greek and latin so you could grapple with philosophical ideas in some semblance of an idea of how those who wrote them came to their conclusions. This was in PUBLIC high school, i haven't seen evidence of that being taught since the late 70s.

Knock-on effects include continuing to "educate" kids more like robots than humans by removing arts, trades, home finance, sports except the ones that bring in money, overemphasis on sat/act scores instead of how to function as an adult human.
