Hello i posted a thread before about moving my fixed 5th wheel back but i am posting a new thread because someone suggested to me i can move the 5th wheel frame couple holes back further even if theres not holes for it on the truck frame and just leave the back 2 holes empty on the 5th wheel frame so my question is will that be safe and legal to do? To leave 2 holes empty on the back of the 5th wheel frame? Idk if i was able to ask the right question i also posted a picture

Rent a mag drill and buy a good reamer bit. Position it where you want it and mark the holes, then move the 5th wheel and drill the new holes. Bolt everything properly and shoot it with some rattle can black paint and you’re good to go.

I’d say a good starting point would be the number currently holding it.

I wouldn’t leave any bolts out. It was designed to use a certain number for the amount of stress that it has to deal with.
It would suck to be involved in a accident and the trailer crush the cab.
