Hey running man, we were at FCC about the same time, I left a few months before you did. Just reinstated my authority and went back to doing my own thing. They do have a delete for that sensor.. I see you got that fixed. They just delete the sensor using a laptop. You still have to run def and you cant see how much is in the tank due to the delete.. But it gets you rolling anyway. Glad to see all is well.. Semper fi bro...

They probably always had the delete but needed big brother to sign off on the fix

The same day my truck went down in Kentucky (5 weeks ago), I ordered a DEF level sensor from my local dealer in Charlotte, they called me today to say the part finally came in. I will keep it as a spare, or might put it up for bid on eBay.

well, the insurance says they sent the check. the truck was total loss. gonna go to ritchie bros in ft worth tomorrow and look at some trucks. hopefully next week ill be back in fort worth getting my eld put in the next truck. landstar seems to have gone radio silent lately. they terminated my lease (because i apparently cant be a BCO without a truck), shut off my landstar access and haven't returned emails or phone calls. hmmmmmmmm

You can and should always negotiate with the claim amount with the insurance company

Did that a few years ago. Some lady ran me off the road and totaled a $36,000 Indian
My wife wouldn’t accept any of their offers and eventually they came up to what we felt was fair

i got the full value of the truck plus $2000 for personal effects and $7000 for the apu. i was over insured by $5k. i have a friend that owns a body shop north of houston who does an annual insurance appraisal just for situations like this.

So I just hit my six month mark here at Landstar. Here are my numbers thus far $120,966.80 gross to the truck, net revenue to the bank on paydays $82,820.41 on 51,908 miles. My best net week to the truck $6609.91, my lowest $18.86 (vacation). I also put 7% into a voluntary maintenance escrow every week,

Now in comparison at my last carrier on a mileage contract I was running 153K+ miles per year and my best gross there was a little over $210K. I’m on pace to gross $30K more here and run 50K fewer miles.

About once a month I stay out and run over the weekend, but most of the time I’m home on the weekends, and usually take three day weekends. I’m finally getting into a groove dispatching myself, I’ve found lanes I like to run that I know are profitable. I don’t chase the highest rates on the board, I take less money knowing I can get good rates coming out of a location with plentiful freight choices.

I’ve been burned by a few agents, and I just don’t pull their loads again. I’ve built a solid relationship with several agents that call and offer me loads, sometimes I take them, sometimes I just pick something off the board.

After my Pittsburgh power visit, my truck is running good, and I’m happy with the power and continued fuel economy. I’m going to have my wheel bearings and kingpins looked at in the next week or so, but other than that she’s running good.
