Did the tour of the house/property this morning.

It's back on the market because a buyer backed out. A bit of a warning sign, but didn't have too bad of a vibe though we did definitely note that it's a bit of a project. No big deal.... until...

Our agent e-mailed us a copy of the inspectors report from ten days ago. Quite a few things noted that pushed us into the "maybe, but leaning towards probably not" zone. Especially when considering the price of the property. Almost $500,000 for a fixer upper that sold for less than $300,000 four years ago.

Found another to look at which is in the same price range. House is less than 10 years old and probably doesn't need any work. More acreage at 4 compared to the 2.6, but I'm questioning how much of that acreage is usable rather than just space due to being on a hill. If I can't level out a space to build a shop and a pad to park my truck, it ain't worth a hoot to me.

Better to walk away from problems. Probably why it’s for sale. The right one will come up, just takes a little time.

Was talking with some dump truck drivers on the CB, at the jobsite today while we were all sitting around waiting. They are working some residential jobsites around manhattan montana (rural area just west of belgrade) the lots themselves are for sale for over 300k for .25 of an acre. No electricity or water yet , the roads havent been put in yet and they are already sold out. On 20+ lots... That is just crazy if you ask me.. I guess some people just hate money so much they cant wait to get rid of it

I look at a house, the acreage, etc. and try to come up with a value and just can't even come close. I feel like I did when I asked my dad for a candy bar that cost a quarter and he told me they were a nickel when he was a kid. Yeah, the candy bar is smaller now, doesn't taste as good, and costs $1.79
