covenant a church group PLEASE!!!

i worked there for almost 2 yrs, had a good experence as a solo driver, mostly due to my DM. went to trainer after 3 months there, and it sucked for the rest of the time there, dispatch/mang. ect. made a few bucks. but wasint worth the hassle. home time went out the window. and u can forget about ever getting out of the chatt terminal.
befor i left they had people sitting around that roach motel for 4-9 days just waiting for a trainer or to get assigned a truck. out of the hand few of freinds and 7 students i trained all have since left covenant usually within 6-9 months. its not a bad company to get your start in the indusrty, but there are deff better ones to choose from.

 

so what are the better ones to choose from? my husband and i are looking..

 

Well this company wasn't that bad for me, I mean sure it had it's downs. Like the $500.00 out of your check for very minor accidents that didn't cost nothing for them. I had problems with my first trainer, but my FM worked it out with me by getting another trainer. But they blamed me for a accident that wasn't even my fault and I wasn't even moving when it happen, officer wrote it wrong in the report and busted me for it. After my last accident I had, which was a rollover at 25mph and the load was locked, tagged and unsecured. They told me on the phone that they were going to sent me back to the terminal to get a new truck, but after I got there safety terminated me.

 

Company policy ?? Have a rollover=get issued a new truck ????? You didn't see that coming ???????????????

 

Covenant employees will treat you with no respect,tell you to back off the f*****g QComm. They treat Drivers with no respect, glad the CEO is a minister!! He's a sinister minister !!!! He only cares about $$$, a greedy capitalist who will take advantage of his employees so that the company can make another million$, he's a southerner who's a fan of slave labor !! COVENANT SUCKS !! I talked with one of their drivers a few months ago. He has worked for them for 13 years. They had just taken ALL his bonuses away and dropped his pay 13 cents per mile !! He was down to 33 cents per mile...after working for them for 13 years !!!

 

Covenant is one of the worst !!!

 

Everything about Covenant is horrible !! The motel u talked about should be condemned, is it EVER cleaned ?? Don't think so, there's always students there , some are waiting after Orientation is over !! You're right, food is BAD too ! The company, the Dispatchers , and the paychecks are just as BAD !!!!!!! Heard a guy died at that motel in the tub and Covenant didn't bother to look for him for days !!

 

Covenant is a crap company. Most everyone will tell you this. As far as cutting cost and taking away pay and benefits, they lost 13.6 million dollars in the third quarter of this year. 2005 was the last time Covenant had a yearly positive income after taxes. Don't be suprised if Covenant ends up like Arrow. How they have stayed in business this long is beyond me.
