Many employees, including truckers, think they should tell the boss how to run the company.

My attitude on this subject has vastly changed since getting laid off last spring. They show no loyalty, why should I?
celticdriver23, jethro712, BunBaoPho88 and 15 others Thank this. -
You know what, last week I had to go pickup some dinner for me and the family.
I arrive at the restaurant, I’d ordered on an app and hit the button saying I’m there come bring me my food. Waited and waited, called, no answer. So I go into the to go side door and nobody at the cashier. But I see on a chair a bunch of orders ready to go, including mine. I decide I need to discuss this with a manager and it takes me a long time to track one down and I’m like I don’t wanna complain but you just let my food sit there getting cold and obviously that’s unacceptable since I’m paying you good money. He says your right we’re just severely understaffed. Just take it no charge he tells me and walks away like he couldn’t care less.
At least I got to feed the family for free.Last edited: Sep 19, 2021

The article does point out that poor management and low pay are frequently cited reasons. I dont fully disagree, but i dont like burning bridges even to places i never want to go back tocelticdriver23, Boondock and Chinatown Thank this. -
Management has a very big impact on a business.

At least it taught me early how company loyalty goes.celticdriver23, Boondock, Sirscrapntruckalot and 2 others Thank this. -
Think about this.
What kind of imbecile has loyalty to an inanimate object like a company.
A manager, an owner to a point yes but a company, heck no.
I've put myself out to help management because they asked and had been there for me before. But all I owe a company is to do my job as well as I can. I'm paid to do a job, I do it.
A company's sole purpose is revenue and as such a driver is a expense. No loyalty just business. As such why does anybody feel employees should give a darn about a company.celticdriver23, Boondock and Chinatown Thank this. -
At different times, I saw two adult men standing in the employees parking lot crying like babies.
They thought they were irreplaceable, "After all I've done for the company and the owner!"Western flyer, mjd4277, Boondock and 2 others Thank this.
