BTW, before I head to bed, I wanted to add something about safe driving. In the last few weeks, I've had several friends have major accidents. One was a near-fatality along with a couple of rollovers and a pretty good list of other things. The near-fatality was a very close friend who not only has destroyed his career, but very possibly destroyed his own family as well as terminated an entire company. (yeah, it was THAT bad!) Considering that company is owned by his dad and is also my previous employer (which I still consider my own family) it has had a profound impact on me. Because of the details of the accident, I'm not going to publicly air HIS momentary stupidity (which if we're all honest, we ALL allow momentary lapses in concentration) This winter is proving to be a tough one. We all need to be giving 110% on the road. Let's ALL stay safe!

-----stepping off my soap box now-------

LMB, sure... Btw, about how much money did you start off with when you joined JCT? Not trying to get into your financial business, just a round figure or abouts. I have read the good and bad about L/O.. My hubby and I know how to run. We would eventually like to own our own truck since, we can't seem to get the diesel out of our blood. I know in becoming an O/O we would need to have about 6 months saved up, would that be the same case for L/O?? Just curious

Actually, with the program JCT has, You can start with nothing. They start you out with a full tank of fuel, no payments for three weeks. The only thing you have to cover tilll you get your first settlement are you own personal bills and road expenses

I apologize if I am asking a question that has been answered already. I think you should print all the pages in this thread and make a book out of it! LOL Or make a FAQ page for JCT Lease.

Anyways, I guess my other question would be, How long till you get paid? Do you get reimbursed for lumpers? I know that you mentioned that they have a fuel card. So if you get a trip assigned to you, do they put an amount of fuel on the card that will pay for the miles of the trip? Not sure if I asked that right.

I have also read that some have their down payment as well as the truck payment taken out each week. then there was a list of other things, like qualcomm, ins, etc. Is that in addition to your truck payment or included with the payment?

Once again, thank you for starting this thread, I have really enjoyed it. I am looking to team up with hubby again after trying to make it in the "real" world. So, we are just checking out our options.

There is almost 320 pages, that as above stated says, will answer all your questions.
I have posted the math so you can figure how much your take home will be......

Please take a little time to research, then feel free to ask your questions.

I think were all happy to help another driver in anyway but please help yourself a little bit.

    Thanks
