O/S on the interstate doesn't faze me much, it's running 'em on the narrow 2 lanes were it gets real interesting sometimes, especially the 12' wide ones. Like when you run up on the construction zone that's been narrowed to a 12' or even smaller lane. Had one on the 1st, building was thankfully only 10' 8" but clearing the parked trucks (over the double yellow) mirror and the guardrail was inches. Sometimes, the workers will see you coming and move the cones over for you to pass, sometimes they'll just stand there watching the show. Makes your day though when the pretty flag girl gives you a thumbs up as you pass.

Most folks coming at you see you coming and move over a little, but, there's always some that won't give an inch, that's truckin. I'm in no hurry, and do what I need to do to get it there safely with no damage. It pays well, in my book anyway.

Here's a kicker, boys said the trailer's loaded, ok, I'll be over to strap it down. How wide is it? 8', good. Get there, buildings wall to wall are 101" wide, but gable ends put them just shy of 9'. Yup, 6" over, out comes the banners & flags. Plus, I also need to get a NY Thruway O/S trip permit for 6 lousy miles, 6 lousy miles, some days you just can't win, but that's truckin...

Nothing like having to pay 2k. To get a new water heater installation.

I found a local shop selling them new, no core on ebay for $12k. Hunter's wanted $13k+$2200 core. Little drive for you, but Cresson Ridge Diesel has em brand new for $6950 - no core needed. I'm deciding in the next hour if I'm pulling mine, or just having them do it. I really don't want to do the job, but other than having TA put a new steer tire on for me after a blowout, no on has touched a single bolt on my truck. Not that I'm the best, but at least I know who to point at.

I kept waiting for a cop to nail him for impediment. Cars were crowding him because he was being a jerk for no reason, then complaining about everyone else. Obviously he didn't read his permit, or he would have known he was the one in the wrong.

Big difference in what you do vs being 9' wide w/ 10' lanes.
