Zero issues of course I'm using a deep socket. I actually went out and got the one from Snap-on so I knew I'd have the best for it.

By the way I got the fuel version with the Bluetooth so if somebody steals and it's absolutely worthless to them.

    Shame on you.

Shame on a thief yes, but software locks on physical tools is the kind of thing that should not exist, and no one should ever promote external connection to a device that doesnt require it to do its function.

    msh and w9l Thank this.

A couple years ago I bought an Ingersoll and Rand 1/2" for about the same price. It only had 500 forward and 750 in reverse. It's amazing how fast the technology has advanced. It did the job but with Budd wheels the reverse thread would bite me every time. I'm sold on that M18!

Smacks of the same stomach-turning logic behind wide net nsa surveillance and car companies being able to brick features you bought on your vehicle because they decided its now "pay to use"

See heated seat subscriptions in bmws, tesla charging, samsung bricking all the s7s

If YOU can remotely brick your tool, so can someone else. If it is bt paired and ONLY works when your phone is nearby, pray you never lose your phone and you can bet your keister they can and ARE constantly collecting and selling every scrap of data they can on your phone.

Before you call me paranoid, lets say something breaks, and it WILL, its an industrial tool with fragile electronics in it. Can YOU repair it? As in, will they ALLOW you to? What happens when bluetooth is no longer the standard? The cordless drill my father built a house with in the 70s and 80s still works fine (granting that its not as good as modern iterations, bit it still does its job) will yours?

    Lots to unpack here.

No, it doesn't even require you to use the Bluetooth.

No, Bluetooth will never not be the standard. It's been here for about 20 years, and it gets upgraded because the tech is the best low power tech out there.

No, you can't fix modern tools yourself, most people can't replace their own faucet on their sink.

Selling my data, BTW, not happening as I have an Android and the app is put to sleep with no permission for location, camera, mic, ect.

    Looks like:
    M18 FUEL™ 1/2"
    1,000 ft-lbs of fastening torque and 1400 ft-lbs of nut-busting torque.

    M18 FUEL™ 3/4
delivers up to 1,200ft-lbs of fastening torque and 1500ft-lbs of nut-busting torque

So m18 fuel 3/4 is more powerful but if the both had the same torque is there a particular reason why someone would use bigger drive?

I picked up m18 fuel 1/2 for the value...it came with the battery pack and 3/4 did not.
Also the availability of sockets at Harbor Freight looked better for 1/2 but that should not be an issue in the long run. Also, having watched some Youtube demos 1/2 seemed to get the job done.

Still, thinking that maybe I should have picked up 3/4.

That is exactly why I prefer mechanical engines over wire motors.
