Don't believe what the recruiters tell you as stated above, talk with as many drivers as you can from the companies you are interested in.....IMO based on what I've heard over the years I'd be looking at Roehl first, but form your own conclusions...good luck..

wow my friend, it's been years since I've been accused of being young, except if you're talking mentally. lmao. 57 doesn't qualify as a kid. at least in the youngsters minds. they keep tellin me I'm old. sheeze. lmao but ####, I do appreciate the thought.
Have you decided what school you want to attend? -
Thanks for the advise. however,I'm looking to hit the road and not look back for a bit. single and the kids are grown, nothing holding me here. time to see the rest of the country, meet new people, etc. the biggest thing for measide from that is fattening up the account. lol
All the best to ya. -
Young at heart, that's what we are, right? I just turned 56 and it pleases me to no end to hear of similarly "oldmantime-challenged" folks making their way into this business. I've been accepted at a community college near where I live (Mississippi gulf coast). It's about 280 hours long. I've got an e-mail in addressed to the instructor to find out if it's PDTI certified. We'll see!

the school I'm at is 480 hrs. and is PDTI certified. Thank God. $9,400.00 out of pocket and up front doesn't come easy.

Hey Live Free, I graduate Febuary 5th from school. The school has a few companies that recruit from it. I have been reading about almost every company there is and find a lot of negitive things being said. Kinda have to sift through it and learn to read between the lines. You find more bad things being said, but most people won't tell the good things just the bad. I have a chance to go to work for a smaller company and it looks like that will be the path I choose. Good Luck in your search and have a safe career.
Live_Free_or_Die19018 Thanks this. -
I'll be about 3 weeks behind you. Good luck and all the best to ya.

$9400, OUCH! Now that's a commitment! But, from what I've read, you've made a good investment. If my class doesn't make up next summer, I might have to go that route. Sure will dent the old bank account - and it's pretty dented up already! Good luck, study and stay in touch with all us envious wannabes!
-
it's not that bad. with grants and student loans, if you qualify. And, alot of companies will help you out paying back the student loans. do your research if you decide to go that route. it's well worth it. I'm seeing more and more that companies want full school grads. Keep us posted. Good Luck and all the best to ya.JustSonny Thanks this.
