Even one of those big candles they make with about 4 wicks in them will fit in a empty coffee can. They put off some heat which is better than no heat. I agree to stay with the truck. It is shelter even if it will not run it is better than being in the elements.JustSonny Thanks this.

When the Weather Channel is telling you a blizzard is where you plan to go keep the tanks FULL! Anything less than 1/2 full you are risking freezing when you run out if you become snow bound!

Advice for winter driving in Pennsylvania - especially I80 at night.
I drive in all the crap without the luxury of pulling over and calling it a night - here is what I've learned, granted I'm pulling a set in Pennsylvania.
Keep RPM's low - it will prevent a tractor skid.
If it's below 15 - unless it's dry you're on ice.
Don't pass me - unless you know what you're doing.
Allow me to pass - Don't speed up, I know what I'm doing.
I run the left lane in the snow - you're in the right lane on a sheet of ice.
I cannot stop - my back box will take me in the woods if I try.
Watch bridges and underpasses - bridges freeze, water drips from above you and freezes underneath - exit 86 on the curve, the water drops down and freezes, it's an "oh s***" every time.
Snow Shoe - it gets bad.
The 111 (highest point on 80 East of the Mississippi) - it gets worse.
You run 80 once per year - I run 80 every night, listen to me, not him.
Stay in your lane - do not push me off the road under any circumstances.
Rookies - park it.
That is my winter advice for I80 in Pa at night.farmerleach and Vitointn Thank this. -

it helps a lot if you know your road I used to run I-25 cheyenne to denver every am and when it gets cold a lot of them would run of the road right in front of budwiser as the steam from the brewery would drift over the road an turn it to ice when every where else was dry

Quoted the wrong post..

You cut out a few important words.. Don't speed up..
I've seen Con-Way Freight too many times in my mirror on icy roads due to people making me hit the brakes. -
Was just trying to figure how can't stop fit with a seemingly confident know what I'm doing. Guess I don't have enough experience yet.

Experience will tell you that you can't stop..
