Can oversized bypass scale with prePass or are oversized required to enter all scales?

Depends on what the state tells you to do... a lot of states print that information on the permit.

In California, All Oversize must enter scales(if Open). With the exception if your being escorted with CHP.

Yup, on my escorted loads, CHP or Military we skip the scale, but all other oversize get to go shake hands

I haven’t seen a state that says you can bypass with a permitted load, except Montana. They let you follow the prepass up to a certain size.

maybe it’s just my luck but with the exception of Arkansas, Tennessee, and Wyoming I rarely have to show a permit to anyone.

I’ve run from NJ to WA seven times at 15’2” tall over the last year. This morning was the first time I have had my permit checked. WA came out and put a hight stick on me.

Saw an 8 axle on the eastbound scale in Knoxville. The scale masters were screaming at him.
