1998 Pete 379 - I have a switch on the dash that has a 704 and 298 wire. When the switch is activated, you can hear a clicking noise (relay) inside the dash. When you click the switch to the off position, same noise. know the 298 is coming from the breaker circuit, and for the life of me, WE (Peterbuilt store) cannot find 704 on the Wiring Schematic. The switch is surely a factory plug hooked up, but what is it operating?

On a 98 Pete with sealed beam head lights? Please explain a little further to help me understand. No label on that switch, but if I turn it on, will I have daytime running lights?

Just stated what my diagram shows. I dont know what options your truck has. Is the switch you are talking about marked?

    atbtrucking Thanks this.

It's not marked and it has a double poled socket with only 704/298 wires connected. I have a diagram that shows 298, but not 704.
