When I have seen lines cooked it was caused by the pump being left on while driving down the road. One had a bad air control switch that would not shut off properly.
Nice looking equipment there. I am scratching my head with you. It will be interesting to see how the trailer does with a different truck.

The motor seems to run the same has it did when the trailer was new. The hoses will heat up with no load on the trailer. The belt seems to be moving smooth with no binding.

Have you called Western and asked them. They are a pretty stand up company, And I’m sure this has come up before for them.

Is the belt slipping on the rollers……?

Put a gun on the lines and get a temp (how hot is hot?) your Hyd man should’ve done that. Especially since your complaint was heat……

small plastic line 5 years old dry rot maybe ?

Might check fittings where hoses connect truck to trailer. Quick connect or screw on style. Had one once go bad and burned up pump it stopped flow completely. I agree with heat generally caused by restricted flow assuming all things the same as they have always been otherwise.

Could the hydraulic oil be a problem? Get a sample of the oil tested, Is this the only unit that is having problems? Is there a filter in the system that could be almost plugged?
