Just curious if the situation ordering new equipment has improved at all, because the used prices are still through the roof from what I can see online. I have a 2019 T680 and a 2019 Utility reefer with less than 2,000 hours on the reefer and 240,000 miles on both, and from the prices I'm seeing online, I can sell them both for not a lot less than what I paid new. I've been looking at used T680's with twice the miles I have selling for $115,000 and the trailers selling for $75k which is what I paid new for the trailer.
Are things really still that bad out there? Trying to retire before year end and want to get an idea of what my equipment is worth.

I suppose it depends on how quick you would like to sell. I’m sure you could get 160k for the outfit tomorrow.
200k it would take a while or maybe never happen. IMO
The new truck situation is still extremely dire. My two are still sitting there 5 weeks later now after being built. The two I ordered for March builds God only knows Mx maybe August next year? It’s crazy.
Im sure you’ll nail it perfectly but I’d say by end of the year they aren’t going to be worth any less then now. That balance point will be interesting to find between continued profit, diminishing returns, and retirement.
I’ll be following what you end up doing!shooter19802003, Tug Toy, RubyEagle and 2 others Thank this. -
Anything that uses a chip is in short supply.
Thinking is maybe 2023 now before things improve. But that depends on delta.

Well I don't buy new equipment but I've been looking for a dry van probably between the years of 2000 and 2005 something like that.
The prices I've seen just for them are anywhere between $12,000 up to $25,000 or more.
I have no problem paying for what I need and I have cash in hand. But I'm not paying $20,000 for a 21 year old trailer.shooter19802003 and SteveScott Thank this. -

Still bad i reserved a new lonestar about a month ago and the guy called and told me they had to push the guesstimate back to 2-3 YEARS to produce. At this point its literally faster cheaper and easier to rebuild my bullfrog and yoink the old engine to drop in an NZ6
